Bronze Medals for U16 Girls at Copperbox

Saffron Walden U16 girls finished 3rd at the Copperbox indoor tounament on New Year's Day, picking up bronze medals in the process. Walden, making their debut at the Copperbox, put in an outstanding performance finishing the day with four wins and two losses.
Walden's tournament started with a 5-1 loss to Surbiton, the eventual winners, but they went onto beat Hertford 5-2, Havering 8-0 and Chelmsford 3-0 with their only other loss in a close match against Old Loughtonians which ended 2-1. Finishing 3rd in the table, the team went on to win the 3rd/4th place play-off against Chelmsford 1-0.
It was a great achievement for the team to pick up bronze medals and this strong performance sets them up well for their outdoor campaign.
